Hello and welcome to the heart of our online home…
Love Shack is a boutique building company based in Whangarei where TINY is the new BIG! We create uniquely crafted tiny homes. We're passionate about getting maximum living into minimum space.
Because you're reading this you may already know about the fast growing 'Tiny House Movement', where people all over the world are choosing to downsize the space they live in.
There's loads of great reasons to downsize:
- Living with a lighter footprint on the earth
- Enjoying more financial freedom
- Having more free time and less home maintenance
- Embracing a freedom of place with transportable options
While all the principals of tiny living are exciting to us, we know that our hand crafted spaces can also be the answer to providing extra space for those who just need more.
At Love Shack we're about putting that extra bit of heart into each one of our hand crafted homes. We love to work with clients to deliver special spaces they will enjoy, finished to our high standard.
Hi, I'm Marcel
As builder, craftsman, sales manager, director, project manager and general problem solver, this business of tiny houses is where I pour in all my experience, my passion for building and inventing into practical, livable spaces for others to enjoy.
My love affair with building started pretty young, next to my Dad on his many projects from the time I could pass him nails. In high school, a part time fabrication job evolved into a building project as the company built new premises. From there I wasted no time starting my builders apprenticeship at the age of 17.
My craft has taken me on some pretty memorable journeys. Projects big and small and everything in between. From multi-million pound apartments and architectural builds in London to character cottage renovations and expansive new builds in idyllic New Zealand locations.
I'm a Licensed Building Practitioner in both Carpentry and Site 1, as well as being Trade and Advanced Trade certified. But it's all the practical experience that I've accumulated over the years which leads me here. Combining my own creativity, with yours to be part of what I see as a real solution to affordable, sustainable and beautiful living.
If this all sounds like a bit of you, I'd be happy to have a chat.
